The seminar “Cybersecurity and personal data security and breaches”

presented by Mr Jano Bermudes (International Cybersecurity Lead) of Ankura, Ms Karen Lee of Mayer Brown, and Mr David Swain of Deacons

Mr Bermudes of Ankura delivered a cyber briefing on the value at risk (what are we trying to prevent and why), threats (who would target you and why, giving some real-world scenarios based on 2019 and emerging threats), impact (what does this mean for businesses) and strategies to reduce impact (the Principles of effective cyber risk management including common mistakes, securing your data, legal considerations and strategies, preparing for and managing a cyber incident, cyber insurance, crisis management and cyber resilience planning, and optimising the security programme).

It was followed by a panel session on personal data security and breaches with Jano, Karen, and David.

The seminar was well-received by around 40 attendees, including LESCHK members, HKITMP members, APAA members and associates in bank and legal service providers.
